Sales of new vehicles in Europe up 21% in August MAXXTA & MICRODIA accessories for EVs

According to Jiji Press on September 20, Brussels, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) announced on September 20 that new vehicle sales in the European Union (EU) in August were 787,626 units, up 21% from the same month last year. 　This is the 13th consecutive month of positive growth. 　ACEA analyzed the double-digit growth in August, a month when sales are usually weak, as “the EU market is recovering from last year’s parts shortage. 　Among major countries, sales in Germany were up 37.3%, France 24.3%, and Italy 11.9%. Spain was also up 7.8%. 　Electric vehicles (EVs) increased by approximately 2.2 times to 165,165 units. The share of new vehicles was 21%, exceeding 20% for the first time. 　By manufacturer, Volkswagen of Germany (VW), the leader in market share, increased 21.2%, and Renault of France was third, up 22.3%. Japanese automakers were Toyota Motor Corp. with a 17.0% increase and Nissan Motor Co. with a 32.0% increase.
