Mark Gurman of the U.S. media outlet Bloomberg reported the news on September 3. He had previously reported that Apple was considering adopting the Ultra branding for its top-of-the-line iPhone models, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max will remain the iPhone 15 Pro Max this year. The Ultra branding is said to be carried over to the iPhone 16 Ultra next year.
