The iPhone 15 series, which Apple is expected to unveil on September 12, will have an upgraded camera as the star feature of the event, according to ASCII on September 12. Taiwanese research firm TrendForce made the announcement on September 6.

The company noted that both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be equipped with Sony’s stacked camera sensors and that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature a periscope telephoto lens, and said that these camera upgrades will be the centerpiece of the event.

With the periscope telephoto lens, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be capable of 5-6x optical zoom.
