Installation Target Changed from 150,000 to 300,000 Units

According to WEB CARTOP on September 16, the government has decided to double its target for the installation of electric vehicle chargers to 300,000 units. This is double the number that the government set two years ago, when it declared that it would install 150,000 chargers by 2030. However, since the number of “mouths” is “mouths” this time, it means the number of connectors.

In its Green Growth Strategy of two years ago, the government set a goal of installing 150,000 chargers by 2030. By the same year, the government will increase the number of chargers to 300,000.

However, whether this is simply a doubling of the infrastructure depends on whether the number is followed by the word “base” or “mouth. 　If the number is “ki,” it refers to the number of rechargers themselves. On the other hand, “mouth” indicates the number of charging connectors. For example, if a charger has multiple connectors, the number of connectors will be multiple even though there is only one charger. 　As a result, it can be said that the number of EVs that can be recharged will remain almost the same. However, if the target is based on the number of rechargers installed, it can be said that this change is a setback for the development of the infrastructure as a recharging port.

On the other hand, if the target is based on the assumption that each charger has only one connector, then the number of mouths will be met, and if the number of EVs that can be recharged is the same even if the number of chargers is reduced, then the cost reduction effect of reducing the number of chargers installed will be achieved.
