Suntory Hakushu Distillery reopened in October! Suntory Hakushu Distillery
According to the September 28th issue of Phileweb, this year marks the 100th anniversary since Suntory’s founder, Shinjiro Torii, started the construction of the Yamazaki Distillery in 1923 and started making whisky. The Hakushu Distillery was completed in 1973. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Hakushu Distillery, and in order to further improve the quality and attractiveness of the distillery, the facility was renovated and opened to the public on October 2. Prior to the opening, a press conference was held on September 15. Suntory’s production of high quality whiskey is recognized around the world, and its single malt whiskey “Hakushu 25nen” won the highest award, the “Trophy,” at the ISC2022, a world-class competition. And this year, Suntory was awarded “Producer of the Year” at ISC2023.
