Three-stage charging with smart AI
Essentially, these types of chargers intelligently deliver different current levels in different charging stages to minimize degradation and extend battery life by up to 30%. They are usually divided into three stages. The main characteristics of each stage are as follows
Stage 1: Bulk Charging
The first stage is called “bulk charging.” The main purpose of this stage is to supply a large amount of current to recharge the battery in a short period of time. If the battery is highly drained, the charger will typically supply the highest voltage and current that the battery can handle. Due to the battery’s natural absorption rate, there is no danger of the battery overheating even when the highest voltage is applied. The risk of overcharging during this stage does not occur because the battery has not yet reached its maximum capacity.
Stage 2: Absorption charging
The charger can recognize the battery voltage and resistance in advance. After a detailed checking process, the charger decides to charge the battery at the optimal stage. When the battery reaches 80% of capacity, the charger enters the absorption stage. The voltage coming out of the charger becomes more constant and the charging current decreases. Low current is delivered throughout this stage, increasing the charge level in a safe manner without overheating the battery. However, charging the last 20% of the battery in this stage takes considerably longer than in the bulk stage. The current decreases throughout this stage until the battery reaches near maximum capacity.
Stage 3: Float Charging
Typically, the charger enters the float stage when the battery reaches 85% capacity. With some exceptions it may reach up to 95%. Voltage begins to gradually decrease while maintaining a constant level. The battery is fully charged during this stage and maintains 100% charge indefinitely. The current gradually decreases during the float stage to a flow that could be considered a trickle charge. This is where the name “trickle charger” comes from. In essence, the battery is continuously supplied with current at a safe rate to keep the battery charged to 100% at all times. Most battery chargers are turned off at this point, but it has proven safe to leave the charger on while the battery is in the float charge stage. It is actually a healthy practice to leave the charger on for several months while the battery is in the float charge stage.
Overall Safety.

Q&A
What is PPS charging?
PPS stands for Programmable Power Supply and was introduced in 2017 by USB-IF. It is intended to address the increased power consumption of today’s mobile devices and the increased demand for fast charging; it is the most advanced charging technology for USB-C enabled devices.
How does PPS work?
PPS allows the power supply to exchange data with the power provider in order for the power provider to smartly adjust the voltage and current to the charging device. This allows the voltage and current to be automatically adjusted to match the charging device.
What are the advantages of PPS?
Conversion losses are reduced and therefore devices are charged faster. At the same time, PPS charging is also better at managing heat, resulting in less heat generated by the battery and thus longer battery life.
