According to a September 23 kofukutrade report, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo presented his latest analysis of the iPhone 15 series based on supply chain sources.
Kuo first expects Apple’s fourth quarter to grow year-on-year. He attributes this to higher-than-expected iPhone revenues and profits due to sales of more expensive models and larger capacity shipments than a year ago.

Kuo said the iPhone 15 Pro Max is Apple’s main growth driver in the fourth quarter, with 35 million units expected to be shipped compared to 28 million for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The new 5x telephoto lens is exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but the camera module is also the most constrained part. This is believed to be the reason why only the most expensive models have been equipped with it this year. Next year, the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have this level of lens.
According to Kuo, iPhone 15 Plus sales performance has also been better than expected and orders may increase. He attributes this to lower initial expectations, but there seems to be more demand than expected.
