GitHub offers passkey to the public: Yubikey, Pocket Key, Trust Key
GitHub to Offer Passkey to the Public – Now Available to All Users of GitHub.com
September 22, ZDNET reports that GitHub launched a general availability of Passkey for all GitHub.com users on September 21, US time. Passkey was available in public beta in July, and many developers have adopted it, the company said. The general availability continues the company’s commitment to secure all contributors with two-factor authentication (2FA) by the end of 2023 and to strengthen security across the platform without compromising the user experience, the company says. To register a passkey for your account, click “Add a passkey” in your account security settings. If you have already set up a security key, you will see an “Upgrade” option.
