Yamaguchi’s agricultural, forestry, and fishery products are being promoted overseas! Promotion Convention in Yamaguchi City

Good morning. Today’s article is about Yamaguchi’s agricultural, forestry and fishery products.

According to KRY Yamaguchi Broadcasting on September 11, Yamaguchi Prefecture is promoting overseas development of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products targeting Asia. A convention was held in Yamaguchi City to promote such exports.  The conference was attended by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the prefectural government, and businesses interested in exporting agricultural, forestry, and fishery products, and began with a report on the situation in Japan and the prefecture.  Japan’s exports of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food products totaled 1.4 trillion yen last year, an increase for 10 consecutive years, with the goal of reaching 5 trillion yen by 2030.  The number of exported products of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and fishery products supported by the prefecture has been on an upward trend, with 312 products exported last year, a four-fold increase in five years.  This year, the prefecture has established an Overseas Development Promotion Office within the prefectural government and has resumed full-scale overseas sales activities, such as promoting agriculture, forestry, and fisheries products in Taiwan and Vietnam.  The prefectural government plans to support the establishment of a community of multiple businesses that will work together to address issues related to export, such as production methods that meet overseas standards, transportation costs, and so on. (After the lecture, a meeting was held to exchange opinions on the theme of exports, where local subsidiaries in Taiwan, Singapore, and Vietnam explained local information on how Japanese agricultural, forestry, and fishery products are received.
